Patients First
During this project, I used the double diamond design process to:
-
Understand what patient experience is, and narrow down my scope for interventions.
-
Build a persona, experience map, and task flow.
-
Conduct user interviews and testing.
-
Build a working mid-fidelity prototype

Project Overview
Project type: BrainStation, Academic Project
Timeline: 2 weeks , May 2023
Roles: UX Researcher, UX/UI Designer
Problem Space
The Problem
Many Canadians don’t find their existing Healthcare connect platforms helpful as they hardly can find tracking information for months after submitting the request.
For the one-in-five Canadians without a family doctor, many have been searching without luck to get one.
Few (8%) began their search in the last six months.
More have been looking for up to a year (11%) and more than that for more than a year (35%).
Three-in-ten (29%) say they have given up entirely on finding a GP
Research Design
Exploratory Research
II explored the current methods of Canadians to find family doctors and attempted to find at least one major pain point.
My goal is to understand why 29% of them have given up.

Methodology
One-on-one decontextualized interviews with three target users over Zoom, where I’ll gather qualitative and attitudinal data on the interviewees’ process of searching for their family doctors
Questions were prepared under the interview guide
Participant Criteria
-
A Canadian Resident from the age of 18 - 54
-
Obtained a health card
-
Have searched for a family doctor or is in the process of searching for one.
